Plants in the Hostel Room

Hello everyone, everyone often have this doubt whether to have plants in their hostel rooms. You know how a typical hostel room looks like right? If you don't let me describe it,
You will have basically like a room that you usually find in normal houses, to be more specific; a hostel room looks like your bedroom  that you might have now but a little smaller version with a bathroom attached.
Well I am living in a single room but I often feel like living in a concrete jungle whenever I look outside the window in my room and it will make me feel so empty and lonely.
Then I decided to have plants in my room right away to fill the emptiness and also for companionship.
I brought four pots of plants; 3 flowering plants and 1 non-flowering plant. In that, two are outdoors and the other two are indoor plants.
I placed the outdoors outside my window and the other two in my room along my yoga mat.
Here some of the pictures..

But later I remembered some stuffs I learned back in my elementary school that having plants in rooms are not good as they will share the oxygen with us at night.
Thinking of this I had this difficulties in sleeping and sometimes I may switch on the lights at night unknowingly ,so that they can do photosynthesis to release oxygen. But later i try to loosen up the things in my mind and started to sleep without switch on the light. The stuff I heard is not that bad till I could suffocate. I Google about this and came to conclusion that one or four are okay rather than having a jungle in my room. Although they use oxygen in dark but they do give me enough oxygen supply while I am studying.
So that's how they become my companions in my room.
